8051 Register Addressing Mode

Register Addressing Mode

  • Register Addressing involves information transfer between registers
  • Operand address should be known at assemble-time
  • The source and destination registers must match in size
  • We can move data between the accumulator and Rn but movement of data between Rn registers is not allowed
  • Example
  • MOV R0, A
    The above instruction transfers accumulator content in to R0 register
    INC DPTR
    MUL AB
